So I thought I would blog about our trip in June and continue a series of posts about past trips Ryan and I have taken over the years.
Hawaii is one of those places I feel everyone should see at least once in their life. It doesn’t matter which island but we visited Oahu and Maui. The trip was perfect and we went with Ryan’s side of the family. Everyone was able to make it and it was an awesome good time. The travel part was long and it kinda freaked me out to know that we were flying over the Pacific ocean for 6 hours, so I tried not to think about it 🙂
We arrived in Honolulu and spent 2 days there staying at the Ala Mona Hotel before heading to Maui. We all wanted to see Pearl Harbor so we headed there first thing.
I was surprised to find out and see that oil is still leaking as it has been since 1941. You can see the little drops floate to the surface.
There was a Submarine that you could tour so we did that as well. It was so claustrophobic and I couldn’t imagine how the men used to live on these down under water for days or weeks at a time.
While we were in Honolulu we also hiked to the top of Diamond Head and explored Waikiki beach.
That afternoon we were headed off to Maui
The first day we went Ziplining with an awesome company called Flyin’ Hawaiian Zipline Adventures. One of their lines was over 3,000 feet and the second longest line in the world. We hiked a bit in between lines and saw tons of good scenery from up in the hillsides
The views from the condo were amazing. The beach was basically at our back door.
