On a Scale of 1-10, How obsessed are we with Harry Potter? 9 3/4

I saw the title of this post on a t-shirt and felt it was quite clever, and in reality, on a scale of 1-10, we are a 10 on the obsession scale. Growing up watching the movies and reading the books, Harry Potter, and all that his world contains, holds a very nostalgic place in our hearts. When we were planning a trip to Europe, one of the main things on our to-do list in London was to visit the Harry Potter Warner Brother’s studios where the films were made.  The props, along with everything else for the movies, is stored there.  Man am I glad we made the decision to devote a day to touring the studio. It was one of our favorite things we did.

We took an early train to Leavesden, where a bus from the Studio came and picked us up.  The studio website says allot about 3 hours for the touring, but we spent 6+ hours there and it flew by (Can you say nerd alert). We, however, were reading almost all the signs and information, taking our time to make sure we didn’t miss a thing.  We pre-purchased our tickets for a specific time to ensure that we would be able to get in, not knowing how busy it would be. I will try very hard not to post too many pictures so I don’t spoil the all the fun for any of you who plan on going…and if you are a HP fan4life like us, then you need to do yourself a favor and go.  The way they do the grand entrance into the studio is so exciting and fun but again, I won’t spoil it for those who want to be surprised.

Really cool. DSC_0346 This is where we waited in line like giddy school children waiting to be let in while ooing and awing over the Cupboard under the stairs. DSC_0349 The Great Hall is set up to walk through, and was modeled after an eating Hall on Oxford’s campus. DSC_0359 DSC_0363 DSC_0368 DSC_0369 DSC_0378 Hagrid! DSC_0384 DSC_0395 DSC_0410 DSC_0434 DSC_0437 DSC_0445 DSC_0455 DSC_0478 DSC_0492 DSC_0531 DSC_0553 DSC_0555 DSC_0558 DSC_0565 DSC_0570 DSC_0575 DSC_0576 They have butter beer there for tasting. It was super sweet and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. DSC_0578 DSC_0592 DSC_0606 Diagon Alley! This was really neat to walk through. DSC_0614 DSC_0624 DSC_0626One of the last things you get to view is the original scale model of Hogwarts.  So amazing and detailed!
DSC_0641 DSC_0646We took our time getting back to London after this, and just spent the evening walking around and grabbed a bite to eat at a pub. The next day, we headed on another day trip out of London to the city of Bath.
